The pillars of the earth is a huge book. Ad browse & discover thousands of book titles, for less. Closely following last season’s starz serial, pillars seems as much a promotion of that film adaptation as a repurposing of the original novel.

It took me about two weeks to finish it and now i wish it were longer! Ad browse & discover thousands of book titles, for less. Unfortunately, though, the book quickly became disturbing and creepy.

Despite its repetitive narrative structure, it manages to captivate by the increasingly huge scale of the events, the strength of the characters and the complexity of their dynamic. It is a ''showstopper'' book not only in the historical fiction genre, but in literature in general. Pillars of the earth is, as a stand alone series, excellent.

I then red the book and watched the series again. The title sequence alone gave me goose bums the first time i saw it. While i read a couple of books during my recovery period, i consider “pillars of the earth” by ken follett to be the best and most special book i have read.this gigantic work, all 973 pages of it, kept me good company while getting my hair washed in the halo, waiting endlessly in doctors’ offices, doing my wrist exercises at physical therapy, staying at home by myself, passing time.

The overall story of the pillars of the earth is incredibly multilayered. It is very readable and interesting. The story line is compelling.

There is a lot about the book that details the churches in that period, which is factual. The pillars of the earth for years, i’d been hearing wonderful things about ken follett’s the pillars of the earth , but at almost 1000 pages, its size intimidated me. It has since been made into.

Whilst it might not be the lightest of reads, what with its 1076 pages, follett’s historical tale is a definite page turner that. I have always adored every aspect of this extraordinary novel, a book i consider to be as close to perfect as a work of fiction can be. One bad casting choice could have derailed the entire series.

The text, of course, is here in all its glory, though the text is plain vanilla, without much fuss; The painted backgrounds are wonderfully detailed, bringing snowy forests, rolling farmland, grand cathedrals, and bustling cities to life. The characters’ greatest conflicts are outlined.
