An exciting and thrilling read to wrap up a great series!
A strange collection of very curious photographs. 5 out of 5 coffee cups scattered toys, evidence of children long gone, lay skinned in dust. All in all, this book is for anyone who is willing to embark on an unpredictable reading adventure.
It will feel like stepping through a secret door, knowing that there might be danger on the other side, but wanting to do it anyway out of great curiosity and enthusiasm for the anticipated. It’s one of my favorites! 6 thoughts on “ book review:
I had seen this book around a lot and finally decided to pick it up! This book will spark conversations about time loops, paranormal beings and experiences, as well as the author's clever technique of developing characters and their stories based on weird photos of strangers. A lot of the photos depict the appearance of the peculiar children, which helps to visualise the characters and the narrative.
Eva green is not my idea of miss peregrine from the book, but she has a look i find compelling, and i am sure her acting ability will keep us endeared to the character. It’s definitely not what i was expecting. Reviewed in the united states on february 24, 2021.
I finished reading the sixth book entitled the desolations of devil’s acre. Miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children is a unique reading experience. The added element of the photos gave the book a creepy edge and i really enjoyed looking at this quirky old images alongside the story.

It was a treat to read (especially at these exciting parts!) jacob discovers miss peregrine and her weird home for ‘peculiars’. Riggs spent a large amount of time searching through collections of photographs to find interesting snapshots that would fit into the book. The characters are well developed and it is often funny as well as dark, and the balance of these factors seemed perfect.

Fireplaces were throttled with vines that had descended from the roof and had begun to spread across the… She is also a mother to them, protecting them and shielding them from any harm that might befall them in the outside world.
As jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. The desolations of devil's acre brings back favorite characters, introduces colorful new ones, and comes right out of the gate at a full gallop, picking up right where the conference of the birds left off. The last thing jacob portman saw before the world went dark was a terrible, familiar face.
This is the end of the miss peregrine’s peculiar children series by ransom riggs (well! The movie seems to be taking the focus away from an important character and placing an emphasis on a minor one, but we’ll have to see how that develops.
